Determining the Human Development Index The Human Development Index is one of the first ways proposed by the United Nations program to determine human development. It focuses on social, cultural and welfare standards to determine not only the economic wealth of the country but also the quality of life of the country. HDI is calculated using the three elements chosen by the United Nations. Average Lifetime Average adult literacy income (GDP per capita) is a combination of three indicators, arranged in order from the highest (1.0) to the lowest (0) of HDI.

In 2010, HDI (IHDI) was introduced with inequality adjustment. IHDI is a human development index adjusted for uneven distribution of performance in the three aspects of human development index (health, education, and income). If there is no inequality, IHDI will be equal to the HDI value, but as the inequality increases, IHDI will be lower than the HDI value. The difference between HDI and IHDI represents the "loss" of potential human development due to inequality and can be expressed as a percentage. In 2012, IHDI was calculated in 132 countries, and the result was very convincing. For example, the HDI value in the United States has been adjusted to 12% or more due to inequality, and the ranking is down by 13 digits.

The Human Development Index is the average indicator of the basic human development outcome of the country. As with all averages, the Human Development Index hides inequality in population development distribution at the national level. The 2010 Human Development Report introduced IHDI which takes into account the inequality of all three dimensions of the Human Development Index by calculating the average of each dimension based on inequality. IHDI is basically an HDI that takes inequality into account. "Loss" of human development due to inequality is given by the difference between HDI and IHDI.

The per capita development index (HDI) in East Asia and the Pacific region is expected to rise 24% between 2013 and 2050. Assuming that Indonesia's Human Development Index grows at the same rate, Indonesia's Human Development Index is projected to reach 0.85 in 2050 (0.69 today).
