Have you turned on designer food TV? I am seeing only a skeleton and it looks like just skin and bones. Many third world countries are experiencing food shortages due to the unfortunate nature of nature and / or lack of state-of-the-art technology. Are you aware that the food you eat possibly has genetic modification possibilities? An important aspect of GM foods (also known as designer foods or Franken foods) is the possibility of eliminating food shortages by increasing production.

Food and interdisciplinary research is the center of the first international conference on food design and food research. Beyond academics by not only designing things and services but also seeking new ways of living and innovative approaches. Catering researchers in social science are constantly seeking ways to influence and shape society through food research, but interest in foods for food is rising. The global academic community and the media are now discussing examples of these design processes centered on food and the new phenomenon, food design. Design, food, and culture interact at different levels, shaping food production, communication, and distribution through emphasis and life.

Food plays an indispensable role in human life. The food supply requirements are getting higher and higher, but how many people are considering designing food packaging? The truth is that visual temptation is very important to people before buying food. The visual performance of the food determines the sale of the product. Before they saw the design of food, people did not understand what is in the box. Food and beverage packaging design is equally important for food and there is a possibility to introduce the package contents to customers.

Food processors and manufacturers are often large companies, many of which are multinational corporations. They are focused on designing foods to learn consumer preferences and expand market share. Dining plants in the U.S. are spreading nationwide, but since the 1980s the number has been decreasing in some areas (Edmonson, 2004; ERS, 2014c). Food processing and manufacturing shipping account for about 14% of all manufacturing plants in the United States (ERS, 2014 c). Food processors and manufacturers continue to adapt to retailer sales and feedback from orders. As shown in Figure 2-6 in Chapter 2, the food manufacturing industry has increased 16% of the total added value of the food supply chain. This is the next high added value of the restaurant industry.
