Designer baby is a genetically engineered baby in vitro for special selection of features ranging from reduction of the risk of illness to selection of sex. Prior to the emergence of genetic engineering and in vitro fertilization (IVF), the designer's baby was mainly SF concept. However, the rapid development of technology before and after the turn of the 21st century made the designer's baby increasingly realistic. Therefore, designer · baby became an important topic in the bioethics debate, and in 2004 the term "designer · baby" became the official entry of the Oxford English dictionary. The baby of the designer represents the field of embryology field which has not yet come to reality, but still raises the question as to whether or not it is necessary to impose restrictions on designer's baby in the future.
