Designer babies may be 'morally' acceptable, UK ethics council decides

A British representative ethic group announced support for science behind GM's baby. It calls "being morally acceptable" unless changing the DNA of the fetus is consistent with the future benefits and further divides the society

Nuffield's Bioethics Committee says that if we aim to provide parents with the best opportunities for future children to believe in life, we should allow human embryonic DNA changes .

The report does not recommend changing beneficial legislation for it, but more discussion about safety and effectiveness, its social impacts and potential consequences is needed.

As long as it does not increase the inequality of already fragmented society, reports acknowledge changes in embryonic DNA.

According to the guardian, theoretically, changing the prospects of embryonic genes can eliminate genetically serious diseases caused by genetics.

However, the science behind it is far from perfect, in some cases it is proved to be dangerous and problematic. Damaged DNA during surgery will be passed on to future generations

Critics of the genome editor also say that ethical organization reports open the door to "designer's baby" and parents change the embryo DNA only to make the children they think are desirable.
