Descriptive science is a kind of science, including descriptive research, observation, recording, explanation, and classification. Descriptive research is in contrast to hypothetical - driven research, which focuses on validating specific hypotheses through experiments. "Descriptive" in science is a kind of derogatory, in most cases "only" precedes and is usually applied to classical research and series. Anatomy, archeology, astronomy, embryology, morphology, palaeontology, taxonomy, botany, map making method, stratigraphy, various fields of zoology, etc. First, organisms, objects, or substances are not described in vacuum but rather compared with other organisms, objects, and substances. Second, descriptive science is not necessarily low-tech, high-tech is not necessarily good.
The term descriptive comes from the description of Latin - meaning "write me down." Descriptive things use the explanation of that word to tell you what it is. When people communicate something very effectively, we usually use descriptive ones.
