Descartes and the Real Distinction

Descartes' statement about what he calls "real difference" proved the foundation of our contemporary existence and concept of consciousness. While his argument irreversibly affected psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and other fields, it integrated the concept of a clear dichotomy between mind and body in general consciousness.
