Descartes believes that the mind and body are two separate entities. Since the body occupies space, it can always be splitable, and since the mind consists of irrelevant ideas, it is inseparable. Using the idea behind Leibniz's law, "different attributes, different things", Descartes began to assemble his argument as he believed his thought and body were completely different. I will review the reason why he thinks he can not divide but thinks he can not do it.
Descartes' first meditation included several discussions on Descartes research and analysis. It is his argument that I feel fraud that I chose to analyze. The actual discussion is as follows. (1) My senses may deceive me. (2) If my feelings deceive me, that may always deceive me. (3) If my feelings always deceive me, I do not know the belief I gained through my senses. (4) If you do not know the belief gained through your own senses, you need to stop judging about that belief.
Descartes' first meditation, his main purpose was to present three skeptical arguments to doubt his beliefs in his basic beliefs. Descartes regards this as a complex part of his complete epistemological argument. Descartes's skeptical debate is not to deny his basic belief. Instead, he used these arguments to prove the existence of God, one of his major arguments. One of the main premises that Descartes used to prove the existence of God came from the demonic debate he proposed in his first meditation. It is the claim of this demon that is subject to the following discussion.
Descartes was skeptical at the first two mediation. Descartes first solves radical skepticism implied by an evil devilish argument by deciding that he is intellectual essence. According to Descartes, this "I" self-view is born, we are born, even a demon can not be doubted.
