The counseling service provides academic, relocation, and career counseling to CSM students. 1) to assist students make decisions and set educational goals, 2) provide academic planning assistance to complete certificates, associate bachelor's degree and / or university transferring goals, 3) provide skills 4) Teach students important skills to improve classroom and academic success; 5) Work with students to solve personal problems that may affect success. In cooperation with students, counselors prepare a separate Student Education Program (SEP) for each semester. This is a course necessary to achieve a specific educational goal. When SEP is developed, the students become energetic.

Many students understand that stress is disturbing their personal and academic goals and seek counseling on their own. However, teachers, teaching assistants, college staff often first recognize that students may not be adequately educated academically and / or emotionally. Because of your position and their respect as teachers, students may face you. Faculty and staff often deal with these difficult situations by themselves. The number of such contacts may be small, but its importance is small.
