Deforestation of the Amazon has been going on for decades, because a lot of land has become a necessary condition to maintain the growing agriculture of the region. Road construction, agriculture, pastures and logging have devastating effects on tropical forests, and deforestation in that area began rapidly since around 1970 (Fearnside, Pfaff). Amazon's government designed current initiatives on infrastructure and operational enhancement, but these initiatives are primarily responsible for deforestation activities (Laurance).
The main environmental problem of Amazon is deforestation of the Amazon. The main reasons for deforestation in the Amazon rainforest are human settlements and land development. In the nine years from 1991 to 2000, the total area of the Amazon rainforest increased from 415,000 square kilometers to 587,000 square kilometers. The vast majority of the lost forests have been replaced by cattle pastures. As a result, the salt level rose sharply. Forest destruction in the Amazon rainforest is recognized by various factors. Tropical rainforests are mainly seen as cattle pastures, hardwoods, dwellings, agricultural spaces, roads and medicinal resources. The deforestation rate in the Amazon region increased by 70% from 1990 to 2003. The river died virtually due to deforestation. Since the roots no longer exist to fix the river banks, the walls of the river will collapse. As a result, sludge accumulated. This causes the river to flow slowly
Ten years after the "Tropical Rain Forest Relief" campaign, compulsory changes have greatly slowed deforestation across Amazon basins and the activity is rapidly increasing in some of the world's largest forests. Demand for soybeans and other crops in the world is rising, so this recovery causes hints of efforts to retreat biodiversity conservation and fight against climate change. From August 2015 to July 2016, the Amazon in Brazil is the world's largest rainforest, and in 2015 the deforestation area has increased to about 2 million acres for the first time in nearly 10 years. This is an increase from about 5 million acres of land a year ago. According to Brazil's National Space Research Institute estimate, more than 2 million acres of the previous year
