 1. Wax: Bio wax is an ester of long chain (C 14 -C 36) saturated and unsaturated fatty acids with long chain (C 16 -C 30) alcohols. Their melting point (60 - 100 ° C) is usually higher than triacylglycerol. In plankton, floating microorganisms are at the bottom of the marine animal's food chain, and wax is the main form of metabolic fuel storage.
