Defining Equality

Definition of Equality Thomas Sowell's article "We are not really equal" discusses the need to define definitions of important terms when presenting discussions. To attract readers to listen to his argument about clarifying the definition, Sowell chose an important issue as an example: equality. In the introduction of this topic example, Sowell clearly argues the fact that "equality" is one of the big undefined terms behind the controversy and conflict (204). Many people pay attention to his argument.

But this is friction - feminism has clues in the mouth of everyone who supports it: "Feminism is about equality." But there is no clear definition of "equality". Equality means what is different from different people, usually fundamentally different - we can not officially declare which definition should be adopted. In addition, according to someone's definition, equality on the earth has no eternal meaning. As a Christian, I can examine the Bible in that context and ask about abuses and nonsense that appear in believers. Unlike my feminist experience, Christianity dominates others, is not the way they see you, but self-sacrifice and true love. This is not the way I can ask neighbors and society, but how can I serve my Lord and my neighbor?

In the era of celebrity feminism and feminism of men, feminist ideas about "all gender equality" are becoming more and more popular. But for me, there is nothing to compare feminism and equality, like focusing on sports, policy and behaviorism for women. Or the risk is too big. I believe that in this latest generation of feminism, "knee reflexes" indispensable to all lives refuse to center women. This is an important reason for the stagnation of the gender revolution. If we refuse to involve women in this struggle, we can not resolve or terminate women's general repression. This means rethinking what we mean when talking about equality and power.
