Every year on June 18, the battle of Waterloo will be recalled in Belgium today. On the day of 1815, Napoleon's French army was defeated by the multinational force commanded by the Duke of Wellington. Since then, the phrase "Meet your Waterloo" means "You are too strong, or you are defeating the problem that is too difficult for you."
When it comes to our spiritual life, the final failure is inevitable, and some people think that each of us "meet our waterloo" is a matter of time. However, when John wrote to Jesus' followers, John dismissed the pessimistic view. "Everyone born of God has overcome this world, even our faith is a victory over the world" Book 5: 4)
John wrote this spiritual victory theme in the first letter. Because he encourages us not to love what the world has provided, and these things will soon disappear (2: 15-17). Instead, we must love and please God. "This is what he gave to us - the eternal life" (v. 25)
There may be ups and downs in our life, there may be even some battles seeming to be failing, but the final victory is that we are in Christ as we believe in his power is.
Lord Jesus, your ultimate victory in this depraved world is certain, and you ask us to share it in our daily life. Thanks to your grace, we can overcome the world through faith and obedience to you.
There is an interesting relationship between being born in God, obeying the command of God, and overcoming the world. If we are God's children, we obey God's commandments and this is how we overcome the world. This indicates that the world is opposed to God's orders and God's order should be separated from the world.
Few Christians really cherish the memory of the people of God. Daily meditation poetry is basic! The Old Testament bends to accept the victory and defeat of the people of Israel (beyond the real victory) and that God will never give up on them repeatedly over and over again and again and again It is said that it is. The New Testament is nothing more than the details of God's merciful love. And this love will be physical death and people can live in him. Remember these encounters and trust them every day to replace the basis of each week (memories without God) with Christians. This does not mean we do not have painful memories of long term, but that is not basic.
Change fail and victory to support. In war, results are inevitable. Rhetoric of good war has to change the danger of failure to failure and re-destroy the spirit. Likewise, good war statements must change the danger of encouraging victory to encourage self-satisfaction. These forces have brought about new situations and new challenges. They define a new dimension for public life. Remarks of the colonial era have to develop in a manner closer to the colony in a unified way with France. The big awakening and increased trade provides a way to spread the new 'colony' language.
