Deep Foundation: Bored Pile Construction

Deep foundation Deep base foundation members include piles and pier like thin pillars embedded in the basement. They are prevented from bending as they are limited by the earth. Piles and piers move loads to rocks and large-capacity soils as they pass through inappropriate soils. As mentioned earlier, if a shallow foundation can not be used because the soil is swollen, there is a low loading capacity or deep frost line, use a deep foundation. They are also used in buildings that house items or instruments that are sensitive to shallow foundation solutions.

Drilling shafts are also known as "cages", "piercings", or "drill piles". This is often seen as a cost-effective solution being deployed around the world. This is a widely used deep foundation type. Drilling shafts are widely used for construction of bridges and large buildings. This technology is used in construction sites where heavy loads and lateral drag are important factors. Bowling piles are made of concrete or grout, cast or cast in underground borehole in plastic condition. Auger casting, drilling, locally striking and its deformation are all shaped like bowling piles. Installed borepiles are not easy to inspect and are difficult to install in very soft or loose soil, damp and marine environments.

Disadvantages of continuous piercing piles are overcome by the use of secant piles that introduce interlocking methods. The secant pile wall is constructed by pouring concrete into the primary (female) pile, and then the secondary (pile) is drilled through the mother pile before the concrete reaches maximum strength. Thereby, the piles overlap each other. The steel sheet pile walls consist of a set of piles that are intertwined with each other and driven into the ground. The majority of steel sheet pile walls are now made of factory steel plates. The use of sheet piles as temporary soil supports in urban basement is not a major limiting factor. The seat pile can be mounted hydraulically to reduce contamination by noise. The sheet pile wall can be designed as a cantilever wall or an anchor wall depending on the depth of the cellar and the change in soil condition.
