Tragic heroes are often referred to as the character of aristocrats and ultimately experience fatal changes leading to tragedy. But Arthur Miller's view on tragic heroes is a bit different. He insists that a tragic hero does not need to be a noble personality and need not be an ordinary person with a tragic defect. In the drama "Death of a salesman" written by Arthur Miller, the standard of a contemporary tragic hero is best expressed and exhibited through the main character Willy Roman.
