Death of a Bureaucrat (1966)

I think that it is not an exaggeration to say that this movie is the predecessor of the Monty Python movie. But the way it deals with this theme, its imaginative gimmicks and internal cuts only will remind you of those British geniuses.

How about a family (the main character and his aunt) who can not bury his loved one and have to let him go home to the red tapes without ignoring human contacts? Can you do it? And their despair? . To successfully balance all these, we need very skilled supervision.

I have neither seen nor heard of Latin American films like this. In Latin American movies (of course, even in world movies) it must be regarded as a breakthrough event. Unfortunately, the style and genius of the director Tomás Gutiérrez Alea does not seem to have an avid believer. I am worried that this is not due to the Cuban congregation, but due to the lack of interest in Cuban art in the 1960s and attention, it may be related to the origin of Cuba. Many movies are produced in Latin America, but most of them are serious. When someone advocates a comedy idea, it is very easy and incredibly cliché, with not a few exceptions there is nothing to talk to the world.

That is why I was surprised by LA MUERTEDEUNOBURÓCRATA.

La muertedeunburócrata (death of the official residence) is a comedy movie filmed by Cuban director Thomas Gutierrez Alaya in 1966. It will ridicule communist bureaucracy and red tape, and how it affects people who have to waste time and overcome obstacles. Life of ordinary people is only to keep their ordinary life. The story begins with the death of a model worker whose ambassador's card is buried as an honor badge. But his intention was told that a card is needed to take advantage of her given to her.
