Death: Flowers and Bomb Shells

Death is what everyone has to deal with at some point in his or her life. The poems of "Dulce et Decorum Est" and "Nothing Gold Stay Stay" all contain the concept of death, but the way is completely different. They offer a view of death from both ends of the familiar lineage. Death can be a very difficult thing to experience, the emotions it causes are difficult to express. Both poems express the feelings lost by death, but the tone that the reader feels in each poem is completely different.

Jessica Semaan's earliest memories were one of her most difficult things. I put her belongings in the car and headed for a bomb shelter off the coast of Lebanon. The civil war in Lebanon has reached the climax, the shell was raining at her house. Her family survived, but Jessica never forgot the feelings of war. First of all, in order to survive many different types of aerial bombs, shells, rockets, phosphors, and cluster bombs, you need to live on the lower floor of the building.
