University of Arkansas Pine Buraf (UAPB) is the second oldest public educational institution in Arkansas, the legacy of the oldest black people. Maintaining one of the few aquaculture research projects in Japan, it is the only project in Arkansas. There is also a university museum and cultural center to protect the history of UAPB and Arkansas Delta. Pine Bluff has a full range of educational facilities. The Pinebruff School District has an elementary school magnet school to satisfy special interests in mathematics, science, foreign languages, communication, art and performing arts.
