David's Changing Views In The Chrysalids

In John Wyndham's novel The Chrysalids, it explains the life of a boy named David Strorm and explains how he became part of an anti-mutation society called Waknuk. In this society, they have a very powerful policy for small "deviant" and non-compliance. If those who do not obey "deviations" are sent to the edge of their poverty, this is a struggle for survival the next day. As a child, David was taught a very strict way to follow his religion. As he got older, he received great pressure in following Waknuk 's precise teachings.

David and his friends were born after the Chrysalid stage without any shelter. They have telepathic ability caused by human evolution. If others are aware of their abilities, the society in which David and his friends live will not accept that they live in Waknuk. Waknuk people follow their religion, avoid change and deny imagination and wisdom. Therefore, David and his friends will not be allowed to live in Waknuk. Axel uncle, aunt of David, realized that David was not a departure from David, through his dream, his ability, and the information his friend had told him. Uncle Axel realized that David was a part of human evolution, born from the stage of Krisalide, changed the image of humanity, and thought of prejudice that had to fly to the fringe. After all, David's "a person of that species" came to save him and his friends to evolve key survival, that is, to New Zealand.
