David J. Johns

David J. Johns is the executive director of the National Black Judicial Alliance. He is the former executive director of the White House African American Education Excellence Program. This initiative works in federal agencies, domestic partners and communities to provide African-American students with a more effective continuing education program.

Before joining the faculty, he was a senior education policy adviser to the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee (HELP) led by Senator Tom Harkin of D - Iowa. Prior to working at Harkin's Senator HELP Committee, he served under the guidance of Senator Ted Kennedy of D-Mass. Office work

Johns worked to influence low-income minority students, negligent youth and early childhood education, and historical black colleges and universities (HBCU). His research as a researcher at Andrew W. Mellon has become a catalyst to identify, destroy, and replace the negative perception of black males in academia and society. Johns promises to volunteer and is actively working to improve the literacy rate of young men.

Johns received a master's degree in sociology and educational policy from Teacher 's College of Columbia University and graduated with honors while teaching elementary school in New York. He graduated from Columbia University in 2004, majoring in English, creative writing, and African American studies. Johns was named Root 100 in 2014 and 2013, was elected a member of Ebony Power 100 in 2015 and received the early career award from Columbia University Teachers College in 2016.

Born in Calver City, California, David Johns is the son of Homer Johns and Edith Johns, brothers of Melinda Nicole Johns. He studied at Paul Level High School in Brentwood, California and graduated from Palisades High School in Palisades, California. As a black boys raised in a non-core family in Englewood, California, Johns said the possibility of his masculinity and romantic and intimate relationship is shallow with "accepted actions" in "traditional".
