DAR Good Citizen

The DAR Good Citizen Award and Scholarship Contest was founded in 1934 and encourages and rewards the quality of excellent citizenship.

This award honors and rewards individuals with reliability, service, leadership and patriotism in families, schools and communities. Because they showed excellent educational background, these students were chosen by teachers and classmates.

Only high school graduates can participate in this program, and their schools are approved by the State Board of Education.

Students will be invited to participate in the scholarship portion of the program when students are selected as DAR Good Citizen. This includes personal statements and articles. The scholarship portion of the student's participation in the program is optional.

The DAR good citizen committee was established as a good citizen pilgrimage in 1934. In 1952, the name was changed to DAR Good Citizen, and local awards were awarded prizes, prizes and certificates. In 1974, competition was held for young men and women.

The DAR Good Citizenship Program and Scholarship Competition Committee, founded in 1934, were originally called the Darlar civil rights pilgrimage. In 1952, the name was changed to DAR Good Citizens Committee, prize money was awarded to the winners of the state and nationwide. DAR was founded in 1890 by four women. Their common bond is that each person has a father or grandfather of the American Revolution patriot. The founder aimed to create an organization that "memorizes the memory and spirit of American independent women and men forever".

The theme of DAR Good Citizens is "our American heritage and our responsibility to protect it". The focus of this article is as follows. Senior students at their school choose to participate. Each DAR Good Citizen is the winner of their school and three non-DAR Judges choose one to submit to DAR, Colorado. They possess the following qualities: reliability, usefulness, leadership, and patriotism. They are great students who contribute greatly to the community through volunteer activities, scholars and activities.
