Daisy’s Corruption of the American Dream

Merriam Webster dictionary defines corruption as loss of integrity, virtue, or moral principles. In F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby", the author explains about the depravity of American dreams through various roles. One of the characters is Daisy Buchanan, the coworker's cousin. In the story, Daisy is concerned only with the property, not the people. She allows other people to degenerate for their actions. Daisy's happiness is based on her materialism, a lack of wisdom and interpersonal interpersonal relationships.

Jay Gatsby believes in American dreams. America 's dream was bad for him. He took his own yacht with Cody to take the Burberry Coast and the West Indies to travel in many places like luxury and wealth. Daisy, the true love of Gatsby, wanted Daisy to marry rich, as his girlfriend left him because he returned to the poor from the First World War. He is rich and is determined to return to Daisy. "It is not surprising that this ancient sports, that I love her is not surprising, I hope she will throw me away for a while, but she fell in love with me" (157) After becoming rich, he threw a luxurious party to seduce Daisy and made him meet her again. The role of Gatsby symbolizes the collapse of American dreams. His work until he completed the majority of his dreams, not happiness, he worked hard for all of this and tried to gain something. Because Gatsby ignores reality, I believe that if I can earn enough money, I can regain love.

Jay Gatsby, also known as the rich man, is about to make progress in America's dream. His life represents America 's dream, just as he was eroded by Daisy' s love, and at the same time he reached the dream that you have to be polluted with money. The money displayed in green represents wealth. This is one of the elements that realizes America's dream. Gatsby is portrayed as a tragic personality because for his love he gives up his family to be accepted by Daisy and is trying to change his way of life. The shirt symbolizes the change from the young Gatsby to the present. Daisy likes to buy shirts because Tom likes to buy shirts, but when Gatsby showed her the shirt she bought for him, she was caught shocked by the differences of the past. Gatsby wants to live a better life If he puts his thought into action, he thinks he can do this, it is also part of America's dream.

Tom and Daisy are synonymous of couples who have everything American dreams can achieve, but they are so sneaky that they are not worth or value for American dreams. They are "inattentive people", they do not have morality and it means that American dreams do not have to work hard to get all that they promise. Another one clearly shows that role of corruption in America's dream is Myrtle.
