In the not too distant past, keyboard input or touch typing was a skill learned by people involved in business careers. College students use the keyboard to enter necessary university papers, but they will soon forget it after graduation. The situation has changed. For personal computers in homes, schools, and workplaces, the keyboard is a necessary skill for most people. The high school business typing class has become a technical course of junior high school, and now it is a basic computer keyboard course.

Since keyboards are useful for elementary school students to acquire language skills, it has been known for more than half a century, so why typewriters rarely enter elementary school classrooms? One answer is that the school basically reflects the perceived needs of society. A school in the industrial age is like a factory and typewriter funds can only be prepared by a relatively small number of students, so it will be a clerk or typist.
