People have lived in America long before white people "discovered". These people are known as Native Americans. They lived peacefully on this land for hundreds of years until the white settlers began migrating to the west in the early 19th century. When these white settlers encountered Native American, they brought conviction that eventually led to a great conflict with indigenous peoples who had their own worth. It is clear that Caucasian and Native Americans can not live in peace because their values and culture are so different.
As a result of centuries of conflict between Caucasian and Indians, the traditional Native American culture has been destroyed. However, in the mid 18th century, the balance between white and native American was very well balanced. The east coast tribes were largely defeated and pushed to the west by expanding British colonies. However, in the Appalachian region (the region between the Appalachia mountains and the Mississippi River) and in the Midwest today many tribes have established stable relations with French merchants and soldiers who occupy this region. At least French do not want to conquer the Indians, they want to trade with them. Over the years, French fur traders have bought knives, blankets, tools and kettles for Indian beaver fur in the American forest and plains. After that, American merchants in the UK and colonies began trading with tribes of Native Americans.
Trade between Caucasian and Native American encourages other forms of cultural exchanges. Many white merchants marry Indian women and are accepted into the tribe of women as families. Caucasian travels with Indians and goes hunting to explore missions and learn each other's language and lifestyle. But despite sharing all of these, there are still great cultural differences between the two people. For example, in trade, white traders try to get as much fur as possible to get the minimum amount of goods, and they are willing to deceive bribes and native Americans for improper exchanges I guess. These traders believe that the purpose of economic exchange is to protect their own interests and maximize their profits. The way the American Indian looks is quite different. To them, exchanging goods is a way to strengthen friendship and alliance. Some people think that friends will pay attention to each other.
