Leisure Cultural Concepts Contemporary American culture seems to require a difference between leisure and work. It is not any other culture in the world. We really forget the possibilities that may exist in addition to our own other meanings. I would like to explore different meanings of leisure with people with other cultural backgrounds and compare them with European people. It is important to remember that there is no way to think of the result as the truth of global culture.
Leisure time occurs in the world of society. It is a product of specific time and culture reflecting economic and social structure (Kelly 1982). Given the social nature of leisure experiences, the meaning of this experience is also likely to be affected by social and cultural contexts. As time goes by, cultural, economic and social environments change, consumer leisure experiences adapt. In order to investigate the gender difference in the concept of leisure, it is necessary to consider the social background that men and women live and interact. Given the social background and the dynamics of male / female interactions, leisure is not a static concept but a dynamic concept. In this article we will use leisure as a conceptualization of social experience. In the next section we introduce and explain the concept of sexual identity and sex role attitudes as a way to investigate the gender difference in leisure concepts.
