Cryptographic Key Generation Using Cancellable Biometrics

1 We propose an efficient way to generate cryptographic keys from fingerprint biometrics using cryptographic key generation that cancels biometrics using cancelable biometric technology. This method takes a fingerprint as an input and extracts a feature point from the preprocessed fingerprint image. We use preprocessed fingerprint images using histogram equalization and winner filtering. Next, a template that can be canceled is generated from the feature points extracted using the one-way conversion function. Finally, an encryption key is generated.

Several methods for generating new proprietary biometrics have been proposed. The first fingerprint-based cancelable biometric system was designed and developed by Tulyakov et al. Basically, cancelable biometrics perform distortion of biometric images or features before matching. The variability of the distortion parameters provides a cancelable nature of this scheme. Some of the proposed techniques are described in Teoh et al. Other methods such as Savvides et al., And Dabbah et al. Have made progress in the development of biometric research to make their recognition front end identify. This increases the limits of the protection system, but makes it easier to obtain templates that can cancel available biometrics.

This article focuses on the limits of biometrics and shows how biometric theory can be eliminated to alleviate this limit. Biometric techniques that can be eliminated provide the ability to re-release biometric signals to a biometric system. Therefore, if the biometric database is compromised, you can reset the biometric image. Our team believes that biometrics that can be eliminated when using biometrics should be best practices.
