In John Steinbeck's novel "The Mouse and the Man", the character Crooks is black and separated from others. This makes him feel lonely. He was forced to sleep alone in another bunk bed. He was caught by solitude all night and he regarded the book as his only companion. I am proud of my will to depict myself as being indifferent, but he is happy to be with other people. Crox first tried to let Lenny down from his room, but then he decided that he could not understand that he really wanted to talk to someone. In a conversation with Lennie Crooks, he revealed loneliness at the ranch. "I saw the end ... Show more content
He needs someone to talk with someone, a friend. After Renee explained Crox to his dreams, he said he would work freely. Later he decided not to face rejection. "I do not want to go to such places, I do not want to go to that place"
Crooks is also a proud person, sometimes he forgets that he lacks authority over meadow. Crooks grew up on a farm owned by his father. He is currently discriminated against this ranch in California and is isolated. When he defended Renee against Collie's wife, his pride appeared, but when she struck him, he told him he had to retreat or face the result I knew. These results may be denied. Internally, he knows he is the same as any other man in the ranch, but if he expresses these ideas, he is forced to leave the farm or even worse there is. A liar is a wise person. He knows his right, but his right as a black man in California is meaningless if he makes a mistake and crosses his border.
The third characteristic of a liar is intelligence. Unlike other men, Crooks studies. He is as free as a white man. He is not a slave of a ranch, but he is certainly not treated.
Another lonely personality of "Mouse and Man" is Crooks, Buck of a black stable. Just as Cory's wife is the only woman, he is the only black man in the ranch. The owner of the ranch lived in his room in the barn and asked him to live with a white man. The boss is also rumored to express dissatisfaction with the anger of the clone. He is the only black man, but people are still talking with him. Within this book, Rennie went to talk with him to Candy. Became slim, became a nice person, and talked with him. Others play horseshoes with him. Curley's wife should not talk to anyone, should not marry a person who does not want to talk. She is the most abandoned role as she is not talking to anyone.
Loneliness is the central theme of the novel "men and men". Many characters show signs of loneliness, and there are more characters than other characters. Loneliness plagues the depths of Crook. Still, the con artist accepts things in their own way. Crooks will not talk to another man or talk to him. This led to the greatest loneliness among all roles of Crook. Rejection, like Crocs, most people may get crazy. Other characters on the ranch showed signs of solitude as well. But to stand out others is that no one in Crooks can talk to them and at least one other person can not talk. Crook's behavior and friends did not indicate why he must be the most direct role
In the novel "Men and Men", the author John Steinbeck symbolizes the marginalization of the black community in the creation of novels using the role of Crooks. Crooks is also important as he provides insight into the reality of American dreams and the feelings of all ranchers: their loneliness and the need for interaction between business and people. The reader must decide whether Crooks is worthy of sympathy or whether he is just cruel and bitter and rude and steady step-down
