Critical Thinking and Computer Logic

Because the PCLM solution has a different set of problems, the biggest problem is how to handle existing personal computers. We just thought that we could handle an outdated computer like other items and trash it. This is not a fact, and we must comply with all local, state, and federal rules concerning proper handling of personal computers and CRT monitors. Another unexpected situation is Federal law editing to properly destroy all sensitive customer information on PC's hard drive.

To understand how quantum computers work, you first need to think about how classic computers (also called Turing machines) work. Basically, today's computers convert long strings (called bits) of 1s and 0s into logical statements and functions according to a set of rules called boolean logic. To explain something you need lots of zeros and zeros, but today's computers can do billions of calculations per second. Therefore, at this point you can communicate with the machine in a fairly reasonable way, such as typing on a keyboard or talking with a microphone.

People may think logic: perhaps begin showing the true theorem of logic. But, how do you present them? Somehow, there must be a symbolic expression: text, expression tree or something else. From knowledge of computing we currently know, logic is not a particularly good global starting point for general concepts. But in the 1950's this was not clear and there was an attractive book (my copy reached this group) trying to establish a way to communicate with aliens using logic :
