"Necklace" is a short story by a 19th century French writer Guy De Mobosang who is considered one of the earliest masters of short stories. I am studying hard in English and world literature classes. Maupassant is known for writing efforts to suffer and success of ordinary people in French society and often results in unpleasant results. This is a summary and analysis of "Necklace". Mathilde, the hero, beautiful, sociable, she wants expensive items to suit her sophisticated taste.
