Country Lovers versus The Necklace

Both stories are dominated by women, and both women suffer from the tragedy that will change life forever. Both stories relate to the theme of marriage or gender roles that connects two literary works. In these two short stories, there are several differences between the two authors. Necklaces are more about couple being married, which means that women work more hard to live on her more subject matter. Rural enthusiasts pay more attention to racial discrimination / ethnicity, but black women and white males do not date for the law at the time and seem to ignore other races.
