Mayors and Board members were elected for four years. The city council is a single institutional agency composed of 51 Board members whose region is determined by the geographical population boundary. Mayors and board members are appointed for a term of four years each and there are three consecutive term restrictions that are reset after a four-year break. The administrative rules of New York City, the rules of New York City, and the city records are the codes of terrestrial methods, rules, and official journals, respectively.

Yakima City Council is acting as president. The city council has seven members elected by the district, the mayor is elected by members of the council. The mayor of Yakima provides, manages and coordinates the provision of municipal services under the direction of the city council. Yakima is a full service city that provides police, fire, water and wastewater treatment, parks, public works, planning, street maintenance, code enforcement, passage of airports and residents

Auckland has a mayor's government committee. The mayor is usually elected for a term of four years. The Auckland City Council has eight officers representing seven districts of Auckland, one of which is elected by a general member and the other elected from a single member area. The mayor appoints the administrator of the city subject to confirmation by the city council, the chief administrative officer of the city. Other city officials include city lawyers (elected), city auditors (elected), city officials (appointed by city administrator). The Mayor of Oakland is limited to two terms only. The city council has no time limit. Larry Reed, a member of the Board of Directors who also served as Deputy Mayor, was elected in the fifth period in November 2012.
