Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive and ultimately fatal chronic disease that is the fourth most common cause of death in the world. The functions, quality of life, communication skills and psychosocial health of progressive COPD patients are severely affected. Although these injuries are equal to or higher than those of cancer patients, the necessity of hospice care in patients with COPD is currently being investigated and solved. Senior Practice Nurse can make a significant contribution to the care of these underestimated people through appropriate evidence-based assessment and intervention. Symptom management (including dyspnea, fatigue and cachexia), self-management support, patient and family education, and advanced care programs are areas that senior caregivers should focus on.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a slowly disabling disease with functional restrictions and symptoms of high burden. Palliative care services are focused on the quality of life of people facing diseases limiting life. People at COPD often consider their diseases not as life-threatening diseases but as "lifestyle habits", making the interface difficult. A qualitative approach is used to capture the patient's experience. After discharge, we recruited patients with non-invasive ventilation of COPD and interviewed at home. In the interview schedule, we will explore participants' understanding of their illnesses, concerns, plans, hospice concerns, and views on palliative care.
