Contested Landscape

In July of this year, nine African-American parish detectives were murdered in Emanuel A. M.E. Immediately after the shooting incident, South Carolina State Council voted to remove the flag from the Legislature, and many other states followed it. However, some Americans have called this decision a victory against racial discrimination and hatred, but some people think that with the removal of this flag the memory of the people defending the south will be worse.
