Today, the Western world has shifted from production to consumption society. Consumption has a very strong presence and people can be a means to create their own identity. Today, people can spend without leaving the house, you can turn on the TV or walk along the street and surround the advertisement for purchase. Below I outline some possible reasons for this change and discuss the dangers of people who create identity through consumption.
Modern Western society has long been dominated by capitalist production and consumption systems. And brought about a wide range of social changes, including relinquishing and abandonment of sources of traditional meanings such as fixed places in the social stratum. Self-awareness and the purpose of life no longer belong and are not obvious, so their development is an important issue (Featherstone, 1991). The second characteristic of this society is that material value permeates every aspect of social life and leads to the rise of "consumer culture". Under this social and cultural arrangement many products and services have been marketed and commercialized and their health and well-being have become consumers (Gould and Gould, 2001; Sointu, 2003). As a cultural and economic process, consumer practice provides meaning, purpose and social identity (Lury, 2003)

Implementation of the prohibition will benefit the United States, eliminating alcoholism and making the United States more productive and healthy
