Conservation of the Blue Whale

Introduction Blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a whale whale known as the largest animal on the planet. They can grow to 100 feet and weigh up to 165 tons. Blue whale exists in all seas and occupies a wide variety of habitats from the marine environment to the offshore environment (Clapham et al., 1999). Until the 19th century the blue whale was generally protected from whaling. Not only are they large animals, they are very fast, flexible and difficult to capture.

Since the introduction of the whaling ban, the research has examined whether the population of the blue whale whale that is dependent on conservation is increasing or stable. On Antarctica, the best estimate since the end of the illegal Soviet whaling showed an annual increase of 7.3%, but that number is still less than 1% of the original level. Recovery varies from region to region, and the number of blue whale populations in the eastern part of the North Pacific Ocean (historically occupying a relatively small percentage of the world as a whole) is estimated to account for 97% of the pre-hunting population up to approximately 2,200 I recovered.

It is estimated that there are about 10,000 to 14,000 blue whales in the world. The blue whale is an endangered species. They have been protected by international law since 1967. On 2 June 1970, according to Section 7 of the Endangered Species Protection Act of 1969, the blue whale was classified as an endangered species. No one will kill him for any reason. The NOAA fishery and its partners are working on the protection and reconstruction of the blue whale on a global scale. We are using various innovative technologies to research, protect and save these endangered animals. We work with our partners to develop regulations and management plans to promote healthy fisheries, reduce the risk of intertwining, create safe whale transport practices, and reduce marine noise. Antarctica blue whale is usually larger than other blue whale subspecies. For example, in the North Atlantic and North Pacific, blue whales can grow to about 90 feet, but in Antarctica they can reach about 110 feet and weigh more than 330,000 pounds. Like other whale whales, the female blue whale is larger than the male whale.
