Comparison of Beowulf and Oedipus Rex

Beowulf is an Anglo-Saxon folk ethic written by an unknown writer. It was written somewhere in the 8th century. Oedipus Rex is an ancient Greek tragedy written by playwright Sophocles around 430 BC. The two pieces are written in two different periods, two different places, different kinds of literary works, but there are many similarities in the depiction of the heroes and depiction of the government.
