My education and grandparents' education are very different. My education seems to evolve around all electronic things; most of it comes from books and computers. My grandfather said that most of his education comes from work. In 1957, my grandfather graduated from high school. My grandmother did not graduate, but she received her G. E. D. in 1982

Grandpa said that his high school education is not that much. He said school has no electronic equipment, calculator, no computer. Unlike now, his school locker has no key. He said that most of his work comes from reading books. Sometimes the school will entertain the speakers, although this will not happen frequently.

During my education, teachers can get more resources than during grandpa. Calculators, computers, and televisions are routine tools for teaching. The teacher taught me how to use the calculator when I was very young. From the fifth grade of elementary school, I used a computer to write and study most of my work. Every year, the workload of my computer is increasing.

We are currently using computers everyday as well as graphing calculators and other technological advances such as scanners and the Internet. We do anything from seeing our email to entering English newspapers using computers. My grandparents have never thought about the Internet, of course, computers and so on.

My grandparents participated in classes such as basic mathematics, English, reading, shops and science. Their mathematical calculations are currently being compared with my 6th grade mathematics. Students can now use various courses. If the school does not offer the course, you can take classes online. One thing to confuse them is that I can type something at school and then email it to myself and then type it at home. Some of my classes build web pages, but my grandparents do not know what the page is about.

Another major difference in our education is the size of the school and the number of children in each class. Compared to our school, my grandparents' school is small, our school is smaller than most schools. My grandfather's graduation class has twenty children. This is considered a big class. There are 67 children in my class, I think that it is a small class.

My grandparents believe that education is a wonderful balance. Neither is educated more than 6th grade. My grandfather was a daytime worker, he spoke little English and my grandmother never learned to speak English. But they all believe that education is most important and that all of their eleven children will go to college and obtain degrees. Even with an excellent equalizer, education pays Latin American students money. For Hispanic people, education is accompanied by cultural adaptation to mainstream culture 193 Cultural adaptation is a process for "changing the process of collective culture" or contact with different cultures. 194 When Hispanics has to learn in a culturally coded classroom, their academic performance depends on the clever execution of white, midstream values.

The view of education in my family has been inherited from one generation to another. When my parents were young, when they returned to Vietnam, education was the main focus of their lives. My grandparents emphasized the importance of education and ensured that each of their children was educated. Now, like my grandparents, my parents work hard to emphasize the importance of education for my brothers and I and to ensure that we receive good education. Thanks to my parents, education is the first in my life, and why am I trying hard in school to get good results everyday?
