In my study, I found that they also have the same similarity. In this article, focusing on these two roles by expressing the differences and similarities, I will also introduce the history of the two heroes.
Gilgamesh, epic Gilgamesh's hero is the champion of the history of Uruk in Babylonia in the Euphrates of modern Iraq. Odysseus is the hero in Odysseus' epic and is the ruler of the Kingdom of Ithaca. He is one of the best Greek leaders in the Trojan war. Both have certain advantages, Gilgamesh is healthy, Odysseus has a spiritual advantage.
Gilgamesh is a very confident person, and from time to time confidence leads to him that there is no sympathy for the people of Uru at the beginning of the story. He is their king but is not their guardian; he killed their sons and raped their daughters. Because he is two-thirds of God, his mother is a goddess Nin San, a third of the people, he feels better than the others. This fact is the key to all his actions. This is the reason he is different from the hero Odysseus.
Gilgamesh is a hero who is thought to be more beautiful, brave, and worse than anyone in Uruk. Even though his aspirations, attributes, and achievements are the same as him, he still dies
Homer 's epic "Girugamesh" and "Odyssey". Specifically, we will discuss the main characters of two works, Gilgamesh and Odysseus. These have completely different ideals. There are many similarities between Gilgamesh and Odysseus. However, the immoral behavior, betrayal, deception of ancient Greek heroes has been proved by the gods and goddesses, but the behavior of Gilgamesh has not been proven. Indeed, it was said that God listened to their opinion when the people of Uru came to pray to God that they are equal with Gilgamesh and allow him to live peacefully in peace. Furthermore, Odysseus is a flat personality and we can conclude that the adventure of 20 years is not enough to change his inner or outer. On the other hand, Ekindu 's death made Gilgamesh a human being. This incident showed him immortal, and finally he felt humility when he failed, when he returned to Uruk.
