Comparing Christina Rossetti’s Goblin Market and William Wordsworth’s The Thorn

Comparing Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market and Thorns of William Wordsworth, Christina Rossetti's poem "Gnomes Market" and William Wordsworth's "Thorn" seem to be very different literary works. The Goblin Market was written by a young woman in the Victorian era, the story of two sisters saving their sisters through another sister to build a special relationship. Written by a romantic poet, William Wordsworth, thorns tell the story of middle-aged men and his ignorance of women's emotional collapse.

This week's selection is an excerpt from lines 408 - 446 of Christina Rossetti 's generous masterpiece Goblin Market. Gottet Market is also a wonderful fairy tale from the writer. When she completed it in April 1859, she is in her childhood. Not so far. Rossetti allowed to completely release his poetic gift: her skills with her visual experience, her musicality, stories and lyrical patterns. Many wonderful 'positioning' makes selection difficult. Of course, there is a list of many fruit wishes at the beginning: "Cockroaches like bright flames / figs fills your mouth / south from the citron ..." reminds Christina's Italian heritage. Even more striking is the depiction of the small goblins themselves. "People are running at the speed of the mouse, crawling like a snail, gliding like a wombat, dull and furry, jumping in a slap quick"

Goblin Market (written in April 1859 and published in 1862) is a story poem by Christina Rossetti. This poem tells the story of Laura and Lizzie, which is tempted by a goblin merchant. In a letter to her publisher, Rossetti claimed that the poem was often interpreted as having a very sexual image and was not suitable for children. But in public, Rossetti often said that poetry was designed for children and continues to write poetry by many children. When that poem appeared in the Goblin Market and other poems, her brother Raphael's former fellow artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti explained this.

Christina Rossetti created her first poem and was a very young girl; she dictated to her mother. It simply says: "Cecilla never went to school without her gladiator." People often argue that the first volume poetry of Rossetti is the goblin market and other poems. Rossetti was in her early thirties; it was only partially correct.
