Compare and Contrast the Way in Which Poets Present Ideas About Soldiers Leaving for War in Joining the Colours and The Send Off

The author of "add color" and "send" uses poetry to express their feelings about soldiers. Everyone has a similar attitude to this topic, but I am using various methods to try and communicate my message. Both question the general concept of war, including heroism and glory. The poet Catherine Hinkson who wrote "Add Color" presented the scene from two different perspectives, a spectator viewing the viewpoint of a soldier and her own perspective.

The two poems I compared were Catherine Tinan's "Add Color" and Wilfred Owen's "The Send Off." "Add color" is about a group of soldiers who left Dublin in August 1914 to go to France to fight. When World War I started, I was very happy because all the soldiers had the opportunity to show their courage to her and their family. "Sending" refers to the young soldiers who left after the war. This poem was written several years after adding color. "Participation color" is written by soldiers and their relatives who believe that many soldiers who believed war would be the end of Christmas, so their mood differs in each case. Because the soldiers are already scared, the feelings of "send" are quite different. Most people do not celebrate because they know what will happen

The two poems about soldiers who participate in the war are similar. They are all written in World War I. The important difference is that "fit color" was written by a person without war experience. "Send" was written by Wilfred Owen, a field soldier. Another difference is that at the beginning of the First World War it is written that "to match colors", but everyone is very happy, there are many celebrations, most soldiers are watching it there . "Send" is a sad poetry. No one can celebrate, soldiers can not celebrate, and relatives can not say goodbye. Most soldiers are very upset because they know what is going to happen. Wilfred Owen and Catherine Tainan tried to convey the image of bad war. I think war is like a rotating monster.
