Born in Boston in 1803 Ralph Waldo Emerson is a professional teacher and naturalist (Semihatopal, n.d). Henry David Thoreau was born in Concord on July 12, 1817. He is an ecological prophet and Emerson's student. (Rickett, 1916). Emerson and Thoreau are two transcendents of the 19th century that encourage and encourage people to love nature.
