For my research, I decided to visit the Smithsonian Art Museum in Washington, DC. The Smithsonian Museum displayed about 3,299 artworks for viewing. In the museum, you can see lots of wonderful works of art. This trip is the opening game. I touch various artistic techniques, various contrasts and depths. Henry Osawa Tanner is an African-American artist receiving international praise for his religious paintings. His father was an outstanding minister and his mother was a former slave who fled south through the subway street. At the age of 11, Tanner decided to become an artist, and nine years later the Pennsylvania Academy Academy accepted him, the only African American of 200 students. Tanner tried photography at his proposal by Thomas Eakins, but with a little success. Like many 19th century American artists, he went to Europe and planned to study in Rome.
