In his struggle he is coming further from his innocence and the long way to go is the perfect title for this book. When boys like Ismail are exposed to fear of fear and tragedy at such a young age, it is only human beings to adapt to the surrounding environment. "I believe that children have the ability to last longer than their own pain if there is opportunity" (p.169)

In the process of growing, the family always takes unconditional love with each other.
