There are two basic types of communities in the community: geographically defined communities and communities defined by geographically different variables. Examples of geographically defined communities are communities or residential areas. The gathered houses share a common space. What is a community? Parker defines the community as people who share common spaces or regions, common relationships, interact with each other, and are widely used in the literature (Fritz, 1985). The community consists of mutual obligations and interactions that link individuals to institutions and relationship networks. In most geographical communities, there is a common organization and a more or less loose organization. Schools, law enforcement agencies, social welfare agencies are three examples of official organizations within the community that are particularly relevant for substance abuse. Parents and student organizations are different in form, common to most communities, and can play an important role in preventing drug abuse. Through mutual exchanges, members of community groups and organizations work to create, define and resolve social problems.

Strategies for community-based sociological practice are discussed. As the community accepts youths' substance abuse problems, sociologists who wish to cooperate with local community leaders, through the relationship between control theory and their peers, can fight drug abuse. By strengthening the connection between the community organization, parents and other groups, lowering the community's tolerance for substance abuse, and building support for peer prevention
