Community Involvement Project: Reading Partners

In my community participation project I volunteered to participate in a project called "Reading Partners" at Memminger elementary school. The focus of the program is to help kids acquire powerful literacy skills and help them get into school. It requires the instructor to read the assigned students and then the students read them to the instructor. This program will help teach students valuable reading skills. What you can read is important to the success of your child's education. The program will work in over 100 schools in 7 states.

Please ask yourself why this (subsidized) project or program is related to the community. For example, your grant program involves building a road near high school. Consider cooperating with school faculty and school volunteer programs (such as Key Club and ROTC) to help build the trail. When preparing your financing proposal, please indicate that your institution is cooperating with the school's students and teachers, and the construction will be labor intensive and x hours.
