Community Development

The United Nations outlines community development as "a process for community members to gather together members to solve common problems and develop solutions". It is defined by the International Community Development Association as a field and field based on practice. Even after the definition of IACD was adopted in 2016, the association continues to develop international social development practice standards. Practice values ​​and spirit should be supported; these can be expressed as commitment to rights, solidarity, democracy, equality, environment and social justice. The IACD understands that community development is aimed at achieving participatory democracy, sustainable development, rights, economic opportunities, equality and social justice in cooperation with the community.
