"University education is now only the top of the adoption of ceremonies and adolescence" (Henry). This is one of the things William A. Henry described about university education, especially community college. William Henry is a critic, a columnist and a writer. During his career, he won numerous awards including the Pulitzer Prize as a Time magazine drama critic. He also wrote several books, including his final and controversial work "advocacy of elitism", and he talks about the tension that the United States always has between elitist and equalitarianism did.
In Australia, the term "community college" generally means a small private sector with short-term (eg 6 weeks) self improvement or amateur character. Equivalent to American Community College is Higher Education and Continuing Education Institute (TAFE), and most of these agencies are regulated at state and regional level. In general, private providers called "universities" are increasing more and more. TAFE and other providers have inherited the tradition of adult education established in Australia in the mid-nineteenth century when night classes were held to improve the skills of adult education. Although most universities in Australia can trace these pioneers, obtaining a university charter always changes its nature. At Today's TAFE and university, the course is designed according to the individual's ability development and employment outcomes.
In 2012, one out of every five students of the community college entered a four-year university. For many students who fail due to the community college system, this is a reality. Community colleges and lawmakers must take action to provide students with the resources and opportunities to transfer at a faster rate. There are good news that shows that the transfer rate rose to about 30% in 2016, but according to data, only 60% can obtain a bachelor's degree within 4 years. Briefly, 6 out of 20 students will transfer, 3 out of 6 students will have a bachelor's degree within 4 years after transfer. This number is shocking. The community college system was unable to achieve one of the original goals of transferring education to students and offering the ability to transfer to a four-year university.
Community colleges are also popular among students who are expecting to obtain a bachelor's degree at a four-year university. The president of the University of California reported that 30% of UC graduates entered community college before entering UC. One third of all people who have a bachelor's degree in Virginia begin learning at Virginia Community College's educational background. I'd like to learn more about how to transition from community college to 4-year college so invite graduates of Glenn DuBois, Virginia Community College principal and his own community college, to achieve a leap 10 We offered a step plan. This is what he says:
