Rebecca Bergen: I will focus on how childhood experience will affect our romantic relationship. Our parents relationship is the first and most influential example of how we dialogue and communicate in a romantic relationship. The way of love between parents affects children. Children imitate and imitate ways parents express love to each other. Also, how to express love to children is also very important. For example, due to birthdays and emotions reserved for special occasions, love can be expressed in mischievous, embracing, stunning words. We often see a similar pattern. Just like expressing love among parents, and how they express love to partners in adulthood.
Since contact is such an important nonverbal communicator in a romantic relationship it is necessary to study how contacts define interpersonal relationships. In a romantic relationship, is there a gender difference in the expected use of touch? The purpose of this paper is to clarify the expectation of contact in a romantic relationship and how the violation of these expectations will affect the satisfaction of the relationship. This paper extends the current nonverbal expectation violation of the scale to contact behavior and relationship satisfaction in a relationship of love.
According to the survey, touch is known to be an important nonverbal communicator in a romantic relationship. It is well known that there are various gender differences in the use and recognition of touch movement. However, the study did not study the difference in haptic expectations in a romantic relationship. Since past studies have focused on the use of contacts in marital relations, it is necessary to observe the use of contacts in a dating relationship. The proposed research deepens our understanding of how anticipated violations change the satisfaction of personal relationships in romantic relationships. By examining the sex of expectations for touch, individuals can better understand their behavior.
A similar study was conducted on contact behavior in a romantic dialogue. However, few studies have focused on the satisfaction of the relationship about touch expectations and the impact of expected violations on romantic relationships. In past investigations, differences in age, differences in career, differences in touch by sex, etc. are reported. The study also focuses on the difference in the stage of relationship, mainly focusing on marriage. Studies have shown that couples rely on nonverbal clues when conducting close and sexual communication. In addition, expressing emotional differences between pre-marriage and marriage suggests that emotions become less visible (Mohen, 1993). However, in relation to serious, dating and marriage, we know that as contact develops and progresses, contact increases (Guerrero & Andersen, 1994).
