Common Science Misconceptions

I have compiled numerous student misunderstandings about various scientific topics from various scientific sources. The following is a link to the misunderstanding of each topic.

Interestingly, the two aspects of criticism of the scientific matrix reflect the general misunderstanding that science is an elite pursuit of a few privilege classes. The science of cartoons is a white chalk dust drifting by ambiguous equations on the blackboard wearing people's average and leisure, rich meal, quality of genetic gifts, white coat of the same shade as the skin tone except. These people, mainly men, will play a futuristic gadget in a remote room in the ivory tower. It is not worth the scientist's time or attention.

Misunderstandings about the nature and practice of science, sometimes even by other respected practical scientists. In the initial posting, I have eliminated some of them (misunderstandings rather than scientists) (eg beauty is in the sight of the bystander, beauty is only superficial, you can use books I can not judge). Unfortunately, there are many other misconceptions about science. One of the most common misunderstandings is the so-called "scientific evidence". Contrary to the general belief, there is no scientific evidence.

The most common misconception about artificial intelligence starts with a general misunderstanding of natural intelligence. This misunderstanding is that intelligence is a single dimension. Most engineers tend to draw intelligence as a literal, one-dimensional, incremental linear chart, as done by Nick Bostrom's "Super Intelligence". On the one hand, IQ of small animals is low, on the other hand IQ of genius etc is high - it is the decibel sound level as intelligence. Of course, it is easy to imagine the huge sound that intelligent loudness continues to expand, ultimately going beyond our high IQ, becoming super loud intelligence. - Beyond our way, perhaps even outside the chart
