Common Difficulties Encountered by High School Students in Philippines

Students all over the world are faced with many problems that make them disappoint. They have to deal with many problems - learning, time, money, relationships, job hopes etc -. Parents' previous experiences and education do not always help them deal with this pressure. Many students will not recognize their problem for various reasons.

Specifically, the research aims to answer the following questions. What is the subject of the difficulties of the interviewee? Why is it difficult for students to find these subjects? What is the student's coping mechanism regarding the above problem? Are there any major differences between 3rd and 4th grade high school students in the following points?

Our hypothesis for this research is that the most difficult subjects for students are mathematics and science. We believe that the factors that make these subjects difficult are teachers and disciplines themselves. We assume that student coping mechanism is self-study and advanced reading. We also believe that respondents to this study have encountered more difficulties in their studies and are fourth grade high school students.

We believe that this survey will be useful for students, teachers and even parents for the following reasons.

Teachers and educators know how to improve teaching skills, teaching materials to use, or designated schedule according to the results of the survey. This thinks the respondent is the cause of the difficulty of the topic.

This research was assigned to high school students of public secondary education institutions in Manila. Respondents who chose to participate in this study were from the Philippine Institute of Technology high school. The educational institution's curriculum forces students to study hard for high standards and policies. As with other new concepts, there is an objection to the idea that high school students clean the campus. Because high school students already have a big academic burden, some people may argue that spending time on school cleaning will waste valuable time.
