Commercialization of University Technology

Since the implementation of the Bayh - Dole Act in 1980, the commercialization of university technology has increased. Under this Act, universities have the right to retain inventions of ownership and licenses funded by federal sponsorship (Thursby et al., 2000, 2), universities as an important source of important business inventions (Chesbrough, 2003). According to the 2006 OECD report, approximately 17% of research and development activities in OECD countries are conducted by universities. Academic entrepreneurship is not a single action but a series of activities (Friedman, Silberman, 2003).

I wrote ideas on commercialization of university technology in other blog posts. I worked as a software developer at the Technology Commercialization Office at major universities. We did market research and do similar things. After graduating from UCLA, I worked there for a short time before I started. Entry into the health technology industry is a big achievement. In addition to government regulation, traditional many investment in medical fields, such as medical equipment, diagnostic drugs, drug development, etc., are high in upfront investment.
